Dr. Klaus Schweitzer

Partner, member of EPI and the German Patent Attorney Bar

Klaus Schweitzer studied Chemistry and obtained a Masters Degree and a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Cologne.

He started his professional carreer in 1986 in the Patent Department of Hoechst AG where he gained expertise in the prosecution of intellectual property in the areas of Inorganic Chemistry, Pharmaceuticals (including Organic Synthesis, Steroid Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Immunology), Food Additives, Polymer Chemistry, Film & Fiber Manufacturing.

In 1991 he qualified as European Patent Attorney and then joined the Intellectual Property Department of Hoechst Celanese Corp. (U.S.A.) to gain experience in Licensing and U.S.-Litigation. In 1993 he took the U.S. Patent Bar to obtain limited recognition to prosecute patent applications before the U.S. Patent Office. In 2005 he took the German Patent Bar. Klaus Schweitzer has an outstanding English language ability and is fluent in the French language as well.
